    • JCCEO EARLY HEAD START

      The JCCEO Early Head Start program serves children from birth to 3 years of age.

      Early Head Start (EHS) programs serve infants and toddlers under the age of 3 and pregnant women. EHS programs provide intensive comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income infants and toddlers and their families, and to pregnant women, included in the “0 to 2” age category, and their families.

      JCCEO Early Head Start provides services to 650 Birth to 2-year-old children and their families.

       

      Our goals are:

      -To provide qualified, well-trained staff.
      -To provide a curriculum that encourages children's involvement in the learning process.
      -To teach children about life, their communities, and the world as they develop.
      -To protect and enhance the health and safety of children and adults at all times.
      -To meet the nutritional needs of children and adults.
      -To provide the best training and support for staff.
      -To involve parents in the program to enhance their parental abilities and support.

       

      Early Head Start classrooms are located at sites in Kingson, Festival, Sherman Heights, and Dr. Craig Pouncey Center Cooper Green, Elyton

       

      Applicants for JCCEO Head Start-Early Head Start must provide the following information:

        1. Child's legal birth certificate (original)
        2. Social Security cards for members of the child's immediate family;
        3. Income verification for the last 12 months
        4. (W2 form for 2019: three (3) current check stubs; TANF award letter; SSI or Social Security verification letter; tax return form from tax preparer; child support documentation or unemployment compensation self-employment
        5. Proof of Residency (Lease, Deed, or Proof of Residency and current utility bill.
