      JCCEO CSBG RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM INFORMATION

       

      The JCCEO CSBG Rental Assistance Program is designed to meet the emergency needs of households confronted with a financial crisis due to sudden unemployment, illness of a primary wage-earner, or natural disasters such as Covid-19. This program provides one-time financial assistance to qualifying households to cover such basic expenses as rent, water, or the purchase of prescription medication. Requests are approved based on income eligibility, availability of funds, and documented need. You may download the application packet on this page below or pick up the application packet and drop it off at our JCCEO Dropbox at our Headquarters office located at 300 8th Avenue West Birmingham, AL 35204. Please allow 30 days for processing. You will receive a phone call, email, or text from one of our intake professionals with an update on your application.       Although it's convenient to send sensitive data in email, it is unsafe and IS NOT SECURE. Unless you encrypt your email messages, it is possible that someone can intercept and read your message.

      Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, JCCEO has changed how our agency provides services to our community. JCCEO CSBG Rental Assistance application packets can be downloaded online and are available for pick-up and drop-off.

      Download or Mail-In Applications

      Clients who have access to the internet computers, tablets, or smartphones can now download the CSBG Rental Assistance application and return the application to the JCCEO DROPBOX or mail it to JCCEO Headquarters ATTN: CSBG 300 8th Avenue West Birmingham, Al. 35204.       Pick Up Applications

      JCCEO CSBS Rental Assitance Application Packets are available for pickup at the JCCEO Headquarters Office located across from Legion Field. Just complete the packet with the required documents and drop them off at the JCCEO DROPBOX located outside of our headquarters location, 300 8th Avenue West Birmingham, Ala. 35204.

      CSBG Rental Assistance Required Documents

      • Complete and Sign the Application after it is downloaded.
      • Complete and Sign the Client Home Energy Data Request Waiver (ALL BLANKS MUST BE COMPLETE)
      • Include a COPY of PHOTO ID for Head of Household or Spouse (Person Signing Application)
      • Include a COPY of SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS for ALL household members.
      • Include a COPY of INCOME DOCUMENTATION for ALL household members for the previous month of your application. For example, if you submit an application in the month of October, we will need income verification for the entire month of September. 
      1. Pay stubs for the entire prior calendar month (determined by pay DATE rather than pay period)
      2. Unemployment award letter
      3. Social Security, SSI, Disability yearly benefit letter for 2020
      4. Child Support, TANF • EXCEPTION, If anyone 18 or over had NO INCOME, Income from Occasional Work and/or received money from family or friends or income not reported elsewhere
      • Complete & Sign the Declaration of Household Income. THIS DOCUMENT NO LONGER NEEDS TO BE NOTARIZED. (This Replaces Zero-Income Form) ONLY COMPLETE if anyone 18 or over in the household had NO INCOME for the month prior to application or received INCOME FROM OCCASIONAL WORK (such as lawn care, house cleaning, babysitting, etc.) and/or RECEIVED MONEY from family or friends or INCOME NOT REPORTED ELSEWHERE. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE DECLARATION OF NO INCOME FORM.
      • If applying for water bill assistance, include your current water bill statement 
      • Include COPY of Lease
      • Review each page for completeness, sign/date where requested, and include required documents.
      • Submit Application Packet (only ONE method is needed for submission)
      • Mail to JCCEO, ATTN: CSBG Dept., 300 8th Avenue West Birmingham, Al. 35204
      • DropBox the sealed envelope labeled ATTN: CSBG Dept. in the designated outdoor drop box at 300 8th Avenue West Birmingham, Al. 35204, with ATTN: CSBG Dept. on the cover sheet

      Processing your application is our top priority; however, it does take time. You will be contacted by telephone, email, or text when your application is being reviewed.
