JCCEO MISSION STATEMENT JCCEO provides comprehensive social and child development services to the low-income citizens of Jefferson County, Alabama. Our goal is to reduce poverty by assisting families and individuals to meet current needs and become self-sufficient through the effective, flexible, and innovative use of all available resources.
About JCCEO
The Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity, a Community Action Agency, is an extended family of over 480 staff who are concerned and committed individuals with high regard for others, who also believe that all people, regardless of their income or social status, are entitled to a life of decency and dignity. JCCEO has developed a solid reputation for its programs and outreach to the community that help low-income residents move toward self-sufficiency and improve their lives.
In-Kind Support
The JCCEO Head Start-Early Head Start Program receives 80% of the funds necessary to operate its program from the Federal government. The other 20% must come from the community in the form of "In-Kind" or "Volunteer" services and other material and financial contributions to the program.
